Tech Day 2009

EXHIBITION AND SEMINAR

Over the last century, human population increased by a factor of four. The shift from agricultural to industrial economies also led to the explosion in demand for more energy. Over the next two decades, global energy demand is expected to increase 44 percent. This burgeoning appetite for power necessitates the search for non-polluting alternative sources of energy and sustainable technologies that can harvest energy from existing resources.

In line with the world’s environmental thrust, Republic Polytechnic has initiated several collaborations with Singapore industry and government, specifically focussed on environmental concerns/challenges. As an institution, Republic Polytechnic operates as an environmentally-friendly entity - from the conservation of energy consumption to the aggressive search for new and innovative technologies in support of a greener lifestyle.

In addition, we also provide an annual platform - TECHNOLOGY DAY - for industries, research institutes and universities to share their findings and achievements in the areas of clean and renewable energy, sustainable materials and technologies and the efficient use of resources to significantly reduce carbon footprint.

This year, our TECHNOLOGY DAY 2009 carries the compelling theme of “Integrating Technologies for a Sustainable Future”. This 1-day exhibition and seminar will be held on 14 October 2009. We invite all interested individuals to join us in the pursuit of a global cause. Please SIGN UP now.
