Under Republic Polytechnic's Continuing Education & Training (CET)
programme, we offer Specialist Diplomas in Events, Sports & Leisure
Management, Sports & Exercise Sciences and Outdoor & Adventure Learning.
Specialist Diplomas are tailored for working adults so that they
can upgrade their existing knowledge in the field of sports, health and leisure.

What to expect?
-
Part-time evening course (3 hours per class - up to thrice a week on weekday evening and weekends).

Students will be holistically assessed through understanding tests, participation and practical work.
-
30 contact hours for each module.

A Specialist Diploma will be awarded upon completion of all 9 modules with a minimum C grade for each module and achieving a minimum of 80% attendance.

Maximum of 20 students per class.

Admissions
Admission to the SD-DOAL is competitive and is based on merit and applicants may be required to attend an interview.
Applications for admission into the SD-DOAL are invited from the following:

Individuals who hold at least a diploma from any of the local polytechnics and wish to further their knowledge in Outdoor Adventure Learning industry

Individuals who enjoy working in the outdoor environment. The course will demand from students a substantial amount of involvement in physical activity and water based experiential activities. Additionally, students should be able to show confidence in water whilst donning a personal flotation device.
In addition, applications will be allowed to enrol on the condition that they pass a medical examination by a certified medical general practitioner.
