More information can be obtained from the RP website on financial schemes. Q2: What do the financial schemes cover?A: All the financial schemes only pay for tuition fees. All other fees, like annual supplementary fees have to be borne by students. Q3: I am a foreign student, what are the financial schemes that I can apply for to aid my studies?A: Depending on whether you qualify for, foreign students can apply for all financial schemes except for the Edusave Scheme and Study Loan. Q4: What types of financial schemes are available to pay for supplementary fees?A: Generally, there are no financial schemes which pay for supplementary fees. However, needy students who are Singaporean/ Singapore Permanent Resident, and have successfully applied for 100% tuition fees support from Tuition Fees Loan, CPF education scheme and/or Mendaki can get support for living expenses (include supplementary fees) through application of Study Loan Component B. Q5: What types of financial schemes are available to pay for my living expenses?A: Needy students who are Singaporean/ Singapore Permanent Resident, and have successfully applied for 100% tuition fees support from Tuition Fees Loan, CPF education scheme and/or Mendaki can get support for living expenses through application of Study Loan Component B. Q6: Where can I obtain more information about financial schemes?A: Please visit the RP website for more information on the suitable financial schemes for you. Q7: If I had applied for various financial schemes, in which order of priority will my tuition fees be paid?A: The order of priority of the financial schemes is as follow (subjected to the student’s application):
Q8: What are the hotline numbers for each of the financial schemes?A: CPF Scheme hotline : 6229 3377 Mendaki Scheme : 6245 5817 / 6245 5710 Tuition Fee Loan Scheme (Citibank) : 6328 6600 / 6328 6601 Edusave : 6229 3681 Q9: Who can I email/ contact if I need clarifications on financial schemes?A: If you need clarifications, you can email the Office of the Registrar at help-registrar@rp.sg. If you wish to speak with us, please include your contact number in the email. Q10: Do I pay for my tuition fees first before my application for financial schemes is approved?A: No, you are not required to pay the tuition fees until you have been informed of the outcome. However, you need to pay for the Annual Supplementary Fees as these are not covered under any financial schemes. Q11: What must I do if my application to any of the financial schemes is unsuccessful?A: Please send an email to the Office of the Registrar at help-registrar@rp.sg. The officers will assess your situation and recommend actions to be taken or other financial schemes if appropriate. Q12: I wish to terminate the financial scheme I am currently on from next semester onwards, what should I do?A: Please inform the Office of the Registrar via email at help-registrar@rp.sg. You will then be advised on the necessary actions to take. Q13: I applied for financial aid last year. Do I have to do it again for this year?A: No. Once the application to any financial scheme is approved, it will be valid for the entire duration of your course. There is no need to re-apply for the same financial scheme every semester. However, this does not apply to students who have previously applied for use of Edusave savings to pay for their fees. Edusave application is valid for only one semester. Students need to reapply if they wish to use Edusave savings to pay for their fees for the subsequent semesters, subject to the availability of funds in the account. Q14: Can I apply for more than one financial schemes?A: Yes, the total of a student’s tuition fees can be paid using more than one financial schemes. On the application forms, please indicate the quantum of subsidy required from the respective schemes. |
