New Board of Governors Chairman for Republic Polytechnic

Mr. Richard Seow of Parkway Holdings takes over from Mr. Lee Hsien Yang

SINGAPORE, 30 June 2009 – Republic Polytechnic (RP), the tertiary institution that approaches learning with a difference, today announced Mr. Richard Seow as the new Chairman of the Board of Governors (BOG) for RP. Mr. Seow, Chairman of Singapore Exchange-listed Parkway Holdings Limited, takes over from Mr. Lee Hsien Yang, Chairman of Singapore Exchange-listed Fraser and Neave, Limited (F&NL). Mr. Lee has been chairing RP’s BOG since the inception of RP in 2002.

Mr. Seow succeeds Mr. Lee on 1 July 2009. He brings with him more than 20 years of working experience in areas such as healthcare services at Parkway Holdings and regional investment banking at Citigroup, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan. Mr. Yeo Li Pheow, Principal/CEO, RP, said: “Mr. Seow, who is presently the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors, will ensure leadership continuity, and help RP achieve its mission to be an institution of excellence in leveraging on problem-based learning and having an engaging partnership with the industry.”

Mr. Seow’s exemplary record of dedicated involvement in community projects will set new benchmarks for RP students and staff to nurture innovation, professional competency and entrepreneurial learning. His directorships and appointments, past and present, include Anglo Chinese School Board of Governors, Singapore Sports Council, Singapore Government Parliamentary Committee for Finance and Trade & Industry, and Boys Town Singapore.
