Republic Polytechnic Athletics IG achieved medals at POL-ITE Road Race 09/10
Our Republic Polytechnic (RP) long-distance athletes
persevered through Nanyang Polytechnic’s challenging
POL-ITE route stretching 4.8km and 5.2km, for the
Female and Male category respectively. Despite the
strong competition at this year’s POL-ITE, RP
achieved 2nd place for the male and 5th place for
the female’s team. |

Republic Rugby earns first medal in POL-ITE 09/10
Republic Rugby earned their first ever medal after
finishing 3rd place in the POL-ITE 09/10 season. It
was a gruelling month of rugby with Republic
Polytechnic (RP) being the host and RP Rugby made
full use of the home advantage. |

The team showed no fear towards their competitors
after going through a year of intensive training
with the guidance of Coaches Lee Kai Yang and Toh
Keng Wi. They made their way to secure a place in
the finals, and won the Gold, Silver and Bronze
medals. |

Bowling IG shined in POL-ITE 2009/2010 Bowling Championship once again!
The POL-ITE Bowling Championships was held on the
24th of October 2009 at Safra Tampines. Two teams of
Male and Female bowlers were selected to represent
Republic Polytechnic (RP) and they have done
everyone proud by clinching medals home again this
year. |

Five years of drought has come to an end with a
glamorous win over defending champions from Temasek
Polytechnic (TP) in the finals of the Cricket
Invitational POL-ITE championship 2009 as our
Republic Polytechnic (RP) cricket team won the Gold
medal for the first time in history. |

Basketball (F) made RP proud by clinching second placing for POL-ITE 09/10. They fought hard and achieved 4 wins and 1 loss. Even though the final outcome was a disappointment to the girls, the experience that they had was priceless. |

It was a fast-paced and exhilarating moment for
everyone. On 2nd, 15th and 16th August 2009, Team
Republic Aquatic IG did us proud by clinching 5
medals in the inaugural 32nd National Lifesaving

On 27th June 2009, Team Republic Aquatic IG arrived at NUS in the sweltering heat, all geared up for the inaugural 10th NUS Invitational Lifesaving Championships.
It was definitely a memorable day in the history of
Lifesaving IG as we won three medals. |
