Organized by the Centre for Innovation & Enterprise (CIE), Republic Polytechnic, the National Pushcart Challenge (NPC) was initiated as a platform for all secondary schools who have participated in the Entrepreneurship Education Program (EEP).
Through this competition, secondary schools will be given the opportunity to pit their entrepreneurial skills with each other in this nationwide competition. Held annually, this competition seeks to raise the profile of the EEP as well as to bring together schools on a common entrepreneurial platform to enhance students’ learning.
Building on last year’s success, this year we have 132 students from 22 schools. NPC 2008 has also been invited to be part of a global entrepreneurship initiative titled Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) that sees various youth entrepreneurship engagement activities being organized concurrently in more than 60 countries around the world from 17 -23 November 2008 (http://unleashingideas.org/theweek).
Co-hosted by NUS Entrepreneurship Centre and Action Community for Entrepreneurship (ACE) , NPC 2008 is the key highlight for the launch of GEW where this will be held on 17 – 18 November at HDB Toa Payoh Hub. The Guest-of-Honor for this event is none other than President SR Nathan where he will be giving out prizes to the winners of the National Pushcart Challenge.
