RP wins Work-Life Achiever Award 2008!

On 15 August 2008, Mr. Yeo Li Pheow (Principal/CEO), Mr. Terence Chong (Director of School of Applied Science and HRC President) and Mr. Anderson Lim (HR Director) represented RP at the Work-Life Excellence Award Gala Dinner.

Graced by Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Gan Kim Yong (Acting Minister for Manpower), this highly anticipated event gathers leaders from all the organizations that have applied for the Work-Life Excellence Award for a night of inspiration and celebration.

The Work-Life Excellence Award recognizes employers who are committed to helping their employees harmonize work and personal commitments and is awarded by The Tripartite Committee on Work-Life Strategy.

To achieve this award was no easy feat as there was a stringent assessment process which included reviewing the information provided in the Award application form and the documentary evidence supporting it as well as conducting interviews with senior management and HR representatives and an Employee Opinion Survey covering randomly selected employees.

This was the first time RP sent in an application for this award and it was announced at the Work-Life Excellence Gala dinner that Republic Polytechnic won the Work-Life Achiever Award. This award is for organizations which may not have met the requirements for the Excellence Award but are nonetheless recognized for their exemplary work-life practices.

Mr. Yeo Li Pheow, Principal/CEO of Republic Polytechnic received the award on behalf of RP. Although RP did not win the Work-Life Excellence Award this time round, the OHR team will strive harder at the next attempt in two years time.
