RP's Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) Policy
RP is committed to continually improve its integrated Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety (QEHS) Management System for the
- enhancement of students’ learning experience;
- prevention of pollution;
- conservation of resources;
- prevention of injury and ill health;
- compliance of relevant legislations and other requirements to which RP subscribes.
In a short span since our establishment, Republic Polytechnic
has been awarded many accolades. We have taken many
steps to ensuring that our goal of becoming a champion
of Problem-based Learning (PBL) in the region is
supported by sound management, people development
and effective quality assurance system. Quick to
follow after being awarded the People's Developer
Standard awarded by Spring Singapore, is our most
recent achievement, the ISO Certification.
Republic Polytechnic started work towards the ISO certification
as early as December 2002, and within a short span
of less than a year, we were awarded certification
in the following categories: ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO
14001 (Environment), and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational,
Safety/Health). Working closely with our consultants,
we worked hard to establish an integrated quality,
environmental, heath and safety management system (QEHS)
to ensure optimum resource usage and waste management.
The mission of the International Organizations
for Standardization (ISO) is to promote the development
of standardization and related activities in
the world with a view to facilitating the international
exchange of goods and services, and to developing
cooperation in the spheres of intellectual, scientific,
technological, and economic activity.
Republic Polytechnic's ISO Certification is an affirmation
of our quality processes, be it in the academic
or administrative areas. The synergy of Republic
Polytechnic
was felt throughout campus as all staff and students
worked hand in hand. Every member of the Republic
Polytechnic
team played a part to ensure our existing processes,
operations, facilities, records and documentation
all comply with the health, environmental and
safety standards.
With a QEHS system firmly in place on our
campus, we can now continue to make Republic
Polytechnic
not just a conducive centre for learning, but
a safe, and environmentally-friendly institute
as well.
