Aug 24, 2009
- Following advice from the ministry, RP ceased
temperature-taking exercise. Staff and students were encouraged
to continue practicing good personal hygiene, monitor their own
temperature, and be socially responsible.

- Temperature-taking would be taken twice a week -
Monday and Friday.

- RP would not issue more Leave of Absence (LOA).

- RP had no new cases reported. School activities had resumed.

- RP started zoning in three segments.
Students were allowed access to designated food courts
within the zone. Staff and students were required to carry
thermometers.

- RP implemented time-zoning to minimise contact among
staff and students as first year students resumed classes on
campus.

- Mr Yeo Li Pheow, Principal/CEO, made a video to address concerns from students
and parents on RP's decision to continue classes.

- 4,500 students, mainly in the first year, were granted Leave
of Absence (LOA) from 25 June to 1 July. Classes will still
continue. Their lessons were conducted via Learning Environment
Online (LEO). Those who were not granted LOA had their
lessons on campus.

- A student contracted H1N1 from his parents. However, he was
only admitted to hospital and diagnosed with the virus on
Monday. RP reacted quickly to grant Leave of Absence (LOA) to
students and staff who had come into contact. Precautionary
measures were taken. They include daily temperature taking,
issuing of masks, and disinfection of classroom and common
areas.
May 8, 2009
- All precautionary measures RP has set up since May 4 will
cease on May 8. Visitors can proceed to One-Stop Centre at
Republic Polytechnic Centre instead of South Agora entrance.
Staff and students may resume activities normally.

In lieu of the yellow alert, RP will discontinue the
need for thermal screening and temperature declaration at 12
noon today. RP will continue to monitor the situation. Staff and
students are to present their pass at entrances. Visitors need
to register at South Agora entrance.

- New thermometers are now available at SUI! shop. Each
costs $5 and above.

- The number of students who forget to bring thermometer further
decreases on the third day.

is reduced by half on the second day.

for self-declaration (myrp.sg/selfdeclaration).

- Staff and students have an alternative route to enter Republic
Polytechnic (RP). From May 6, they can enter RP from Multi-Storey Carpark on level 3.

- With effect from May 5, anyone with temperature measuring 38.1
degrees Celsius and above will need to seek medical attention
immediately.

- Staff and students will take temperature and submit
declaration form once a day.

- All staff, students, and visitors are to proceed to South
Agora entrance for thermal scanning with effect from May 4. This
operation was ceased on May 8.
