The Library

Since the library opened its doors on 18 June 2003, it has consistently been a popular venue for both staff and students. Through the year, the library saw over 135,000 visits and total loans of almost 25,000 volumes.

The library kept pace with RP’s emphasis on technology by presenting two unusual offerings for students – the X-box Gaming service and the loan of video and still digital cameras. As a lifestyle library, it set out to promote arts with the Arts Corner. The “foreign cultures” exhibition showcased artifacts, photographs and international films which help to promote cross-cultural understanding and awareness.

As the first library in Singapore to support a PBL environment, we were frequently asked to play host to visitors from other educational institutions, including those from the NUS High School Library Planning Committee, American University of Sharjah in Dubai, Zhejiang City College University in China and The London Institute.
